Shift Design by Marco Piva x Lodes

Italian lighting brand Lodes has collaborated with Studio Marco Piva to create Shift, a minimalist wall lamp that merges architectural simplicity with powerful illumination capabilities.

The wall-mounted luminaire features clean lines softened by rounded corners, reflecting contemporary architectural forms while maintaining a discreet presence. Its neutral finishes and sleek profile allow it to blend seamlessly into various environments, letting the light itself become the focal point.

At its core, Shift employs advanced LED technology that optimizes light emission through its geometric form. "It is above all a powerful tool capable of fully illuminating a room without needing additional light sources, enhancing and fostering the interaction between light and space," explains architect Marco Piva.

The lamp's black internal structure maximizes its impressive light output of up to 5000 lumens, available in 2700K or 3000K temperatures. Strategic LED positioning eliminates unwanted wall shadows typically caused by fixture reflection.

Crafted from aluminium, Shift is available in small (17 cm) and large (34 cm) versions, both maintaining a slim 4 cm height profile. The design is offered in four sophisticated finishes: matte black, matte white, extra matte champagne, and natural brown.

Users can customize the lighting effect through two interchangeable screens included with each unit. While the pre-installed transparent screen offers direct illumination, an optional sandblasted screen creates a more diffused glow with reduced light spread.

The lamp's high-performance output makes it particularly suitable for medium-sized spaces like hotel bedrooms and residential living rooms. Its versatile design also allows for repeated installation in corridors and stairwells, while its lateral positioning capabilities create dramatic light effects on adjacent walls.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Studio Marco Piva on this new lamp, expanding Lodes' portfolio to seamlessly integrate with a wide range of environments," says Lodes Managing Director Massimiliano Tosetto. "Shift's luminous efficiency is ideal for a variety of environments, including spaces with low ceilings and exposed beams that need to be accentuated."
