Spanning 1,291 square feet, the designers converted the interior into an open layout, maintaining the original ceilings and adding arches to divide the spaces consisting of a living and dining area, a workspace, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open kitchen connected to the dining space. The spacious living and dining room are the centerpieces of the home, providing ample space for entertaining guests or spending time with family. Separating the work area are two large arches, offering a private space for productivity and concentration.
The designers’ chose to maintain the original curves of the interior, defining simple lines, reminiscent of shapes found in nature to create an open and inviting space, that adds an understated elegance to the home.
To enhance the minimalist aesthetic, the designers selected a neutral color palette that draws the eye toward subtle textures and details in the space. Traditional plaster textures on the wall create a sense of simplicity and balance, while the warm pine wood flooring adds texture and comfort to the space. A unique feature in the home are the indoor windows, repurposed holes, originally used to contain air conditioners, that fill the space with stunning, airy light. Durable stone was incorporated in the kitchen for easy maintenance while still being aesthetically pleasing. The bathroom features a unique cast iron pillar and a custom-made sink with Macael marble, adding a sophistication to the space that is both timeless and modern. WHITE ON WHITE ON WOOD is a testament to the power of simplicity and minimalism.
Profound use of stunning wood finishes and stark white walls are combined to highlight the natural beauty found in nature while celebrating the history and character of the building’s original features with refined elegance.
