Vincent Terrace Home Bar by Fare Inc.
In an elegant transformation of an unused corner, Fare Inc. has created an intimate home bar that blends residential comfort with professional hospitality design.
The project, nestled in a converted Salvation Army house in Islington, showcases the expertise of founder Annie Harrison Field in creating intimate entertainment spaces that feel both sophisticated and welcoming.
The centerpiece of this domestic sanctuary is a curved island, featuring over 60 meticulously hand-stitched leather poles that create a striking visual rhythm. An ocean-blue marble bar top, complete with triple bull-nose detail and integrated sink, crowns the structure. The marriage of materials continues with wooden elements thoughtfully crafted from fallen London trees by joiner Rob Brain, while panels inset with linen wallpaper add subtle texture to the composition.
Atmospheric lighting plays a crucial role in the space's ambiance. A bespoke horizontal tube light, comprising 24 glass rods with concealed antiqued brass chain details, provides subtle illumination. The integrated fridges are cleverly powered through a ceiling-mounted table lamp—a solution that preserves both the bar's clean aesthetics and the original poured concrete flooring.
The finishing touches speak to a carefully curated design narrative: Studio Ore's unlacquered brass tapware gleams against hand-aged brass paneling, while bespoke bouclé bar stools complete the boutique atmosphere. A piece from the owners' art collection adds a personal touch to this sophisticated entertainment space, originally reimagined by Michaelis Boyd Architects.
