Lodes has teamed up with Needs Studio to launch Tidal, a ring-shaped ceiling lamp that references the tide and celestial bodies.
Tidal’s fluid, oval design mimics the motion of the waves and the change dictated by the tide, with one end wider than the other, depicting high and low tide. Its enduring curves appear differently to viewers depending on their position under the lamp, evoking intrigue and mystery.
Needs Studio comments: “Tidal is the result of research developed from fixed points: the need to create a finished object with a personality that would make it completely different from other products currently on the market. The study, therefore, focused on pure shapes, on the variation of the section that makes the object interesting in constant variation from all points of view; deforming the perception but maintaining a formal rigor”.
Balancing innovative technical know-how and the essence of Italian design, Venice-based Lodes has been designing and producing lighting solutions for interiors and exteriors since 1950.
The light source emits a glow that can illuminate an entire room, its output is 4680 lumens for both the 2700 K and 3000 K versions.
Design Detail
The body is made of die-cast aluminium, equipped with an LED source that emits light out of both sides, projecting light up onto the ceiling, and down onto the space. The ring discreetly hides all the technical elements inside the design, enhancing its uninterrupted lines and aesthetic value.
Tidal is available in three matte finishes: white, terra and champagne. Where white integrates seamlessly into minimalist interiors, terra and champagne offer a more decorative touch, enriching spaces with their warm and sensual tones. Additionally, Tidal features a dimmer on the wall switch, allowing users to adjust the intensity of the light.
Measuring 60 cm, Tidal is suitable in a range of environments, for instance in a living room or in a hotel bedroom, or staggered across the ceiling of a hotel or office.
Impactful in its simplicity, Tidal once again demonstrates Lodes’ commitment to balancing accessibility with contemporary design, whilst enriching the ceiling capabilities of Lodes’ portfolio.
