HENRIETTE SCHOU & FREDERIK KASTRUPSEN
THE SILENT DIALOGUE
This photo series by Henriette Schou and Frederik Kastrupsen highlights the need for a deeper reflection on how climate change and isolation may change our meals in a modern or futuristic world.
Henriette Schou is a Copenhagen-based interior stylist with experience from both editorial works for international design magazines and commercial work for renowned design and lifestyle brands. Schou has a keen eye for aesthetics that are calm and minimalistic, yet warm and expressive. Inspired by art and sculptural forms, her work shows an attention to composition, balance, shape, and tactility.
With her latest project, created in collaboration with photographer Frederik Kastrupsen, Schou has removed herself from her usual frame of interior styling, with a man, food, and tableware as protagonists of the main characters. In this series of photographs, each character is presented as static sculptures, revealing silent metaphors under a simple setting.
The photo series highlights the need for a deeper reflection on how climate change and isolation may change our meals in a modern or futuristic world. The minimal and melancholic still life photographs mirror the isolated single feast where foods and everyday objects occur as sculptural elements.
