Immersed within dense woodlands, the team took advantage of its location to create a tranquil, soothing environment in dialogue with nature to foster creativity, fuel productivity, and boost wellbeing.
The founders Hao-Chien and Yu-An fell in love with the location of their new office and expressed that while they enjoyed the prosperity and convenience of working in the city, they needed an office space where they could slow down and fully immerse themselves in their work. “We imagine ourselves working more creatively in such an environment, drafting our plans or projects with our hearts in a calm state.” shares the founders. The duo also wanted to use this opportunity to redefine how offices should be used and perceived, by introducing an open plan layout that blurs the boundaries between the office’s various functions.
In the absence of fixed walls, the team looked to the use of shelving and furnishings to define each, individual space while ensuring that the inherent openness and flexibility of the interior were retained. An appropriate amount of blank space is required to keep life, work, or even the office flexible, creating a canvas for creative inspiration and ideas to flourish.
The meeting area is the core space for receiving guests, equipped with a pantry to the side to attend to their needs. A large pendant lamp is hung from the ceilings, over the meeting table, to set the ambiance of the workspace throughout the day. The walls here are decorated using display shelves and wall lamps that highlight the unique characteristics of the white mosaic tile wall.
The ceiling and walls are finished in white paint from KEIM, applied using a technique that creates unique textures in the reflection of light - further reducing the chroma of the interiors and bringing in views of the surrounding landscape. Large glazings envelop the office, instantly amplifying the mood and beauty of the natural environment. The bar and conference table are two of the most common areas where contact is made with skin. The team opted for nano-smart materials from Fenix in crafting these two areas, finishing a matte and smooth texture that allows inhabitants to feel at ease and reassured when touched.
The addition of plants undoubtedly enhances the sense of liveliness both indoors and out, while the hanging of an orange-toned painting imbues the home with a soft, warm glow that symbolises sunrise. The studio adheres to the core concept of “Less is More”, simplifying space to anticipate changes in the atmosphere throughout the day.
