Esaku by Studio Metanoia

In a stunning collaboration that pushes the boundaries of residential design, Studio Metanoia has transformed a conventional living space into a creative sanctuary for Esaku Studio.

The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can harmonize the demands of professional artistry with the comforts of home life.

At the heart of this transformation lies a compelling narrative of balance. Ericia, the creative force behind Esaku Studio, envisioned a space that would not only showcase her botanical artistry but also provide her husband D with the tranquil environment he needs. Studio Metanoia's signature "feelings first" philosophy guided this delicate fusion of purposes, resulting in a home that breathes with both creative energy and calming presence.

The centerpiece of this thoughtful design is an elegantly curved wall that dominates the living area, serving as a gallery-worthy backdrop for Esaku's botanical installations and carefully selected antique pieces. This architectural element perfectly embodies the project's dual nature - both a working studio and a comfortable home.

Custom modular tables bring an artistic dimension to functionality, adapting seamlessly to various needs—from crafting intricate botanical installations to conducting workshops and creating content. The space showcases carefully selected pieces, including Tom Dixon's iconic S Chair. The "Malus Chair," a striking botanical installation created with peak-season apples (Malus Domestica), stands as an artistic celebration of the project's completion.

Beyond the studio space, the private areas offer a peaceful counterpoint. A serene study and peaceful master bedroom provide essential retreats from the more public, creative spaces, ensuring that the residence maintains its role as a true sanctuary.

"This project celebrates individuality and purpose," reflects Cher, Studio Lead at Studio Metanoia. "By focusing on emotions and personal narratives, we've created a space that reflects the couple's unique journey and continues to inspire."
